SweetWater Does it Again!

Join us at SweetWater Brewery, Friday, August 14, to celebrate the conclusion of another successful Save the Hooch Campaign. Despite the tough economic climate, this year's campaign saw more participation than ever, brought in $55,000 to support UCR’s river patrol and water quality monitoring programs, and raised awareness about the challenges facing the Chattahoochee River system. In such a difficult year, this support from SweetWater, Taco Mac, and other participating establishments, has made a vital impact on UCR’s ability to patrol the river.

UCR’s Patron Dinner to Honor Mayor Franklin, The Coca-Cola Company and Others

Wednesday, September 23, UCR will hold its 15th Annual Patron’s Appreciation Dinner at Park Tavern in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. The evening begins with a VIP Reception (6:30pm), followed by a seated dinner and program (7:30pm) where we will honor Mayor Shirley Franklin and The Coca-Cola Company for the leadership and commitment they have demonstrated through the Sustainable Atlanta initiative, including a strong focus on water conservation. Other honorees will be Elachee Nature Science Center and Stacy Shelton, former environmental reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Citizens Fight to Save Historic Landmark

Recent construction activity at Morgan Falls Overlook Park in Sandy Springs uncovered an historic chimney pre-dating the Civil War. A private group of citizens in Sandy Springs is working to prevent the demolition of the chimney. If you would like to learn more and/or lend your support to this cause, click here.
