Membership Meeting
Every fall, we host an annual meeting for members and other river advocates. The venue alternates yearly from inside and outside the Atlanta perimeter. In addition to providing a time and place for members to network, the meeting offers a program with a speaker on subjects relating to the health of our watershed and ways to enjoy this great natural resource.

The 2007 Membership Meeting was held on Saturday, October 14, 2007 at Van Pugh Park / Lake Lanier

UCR Members Enjoy A Day at the Lake
Sunday, October 14, UCR members, staff and special guests gathered at Van Pugh Park on Lake Lanier to celebrate the christening of our new catamaran, Chota Princess II. Executive Director and Riverkeeper Sally Bethea and Peter Gordon of the Elachee Nature Science Center each broke ceremonial bottles on the bow of the boat, home to the floating classroom which UCR and Elachee operate together. We enjoyed beautiful weather, Popeyes fried chicken, specialty quesadillas and boat rides aboard the Chota. Everyone also got to see first hand the remarkably low lake levels as we walked down to the launch on a beach that would normally be 16 feet below water. Go to UCR's website to learn about our floating classroom.
