Fisherman's Right-to-Know Regulations
In 2001, UCR led the successful campaign to pass regulations requiring all industries and municipalities that receive discharge permits from the state to post a sign at the outfall which identifies: the nature of the discharge, the identity of the discharger, and emergency contact information. This fisherman’s right-to-know law provides river users with information on ways in which their river is used and provides them with a way to resolve any problems that they observe.
