Monitoring
River Runs
Each month, UCR conducts River patrols to perform water quality tests and conduct investigations and site visits of on-going projects located along the River. Currently, our monthly river run is south of Atlanta with monitoring sites at Atlanta’s RM Clayton wastewater treatment plant, Cobb’s RL Sutton wastewater treatment plant and Georgia Power’s Plant McDonough discharges and above and in the mouth of several Chattahoochee tributaries including Peachtree, Proctor, Nickajack and Utoy Creeks. We use a Hydrolab Quanta sonde on our monitoring runs which tests for pH, temperature, conductivity and ORP (oxygen reduction potential) levels at each monitoring site.
