14th Annual River Revival - Rescue Your River, Save the Hooch!

Mark your calendar for the best party with a purpose! UCR's River Revival will be held at Park Tavern in Atlanta's Piedmont Park on Thursday night, May 13, 2010. Approximately 600 guests, UCR members and sponsors are expected to gather to celebrate the river while soaking in the spring weather under the big tent on the green. Ticket price is $40 in advance by May 10, and $55 at the door (based on availability) and includes a complimentary one-year UCR membership.

This year’s event will feature:

River Revival, UCR’s yearly party to raise funds and awareness to protect the Chattahoochee, is planned with the assitance of an active Host Committee.  The Chattahoochee provides water for drinking, recreation, business and more for 3.5 million Georgians and is the host heavily used water resource in Georgia.  Constantly threatened by overuse, pollution, and waste, the Chattahoochee River needs your help! To become a UCR member, click here

About the Music:

Emerson Hart is the lead singer and songwriter of the alternative rock band Tonic. Tonic’s first release, Lemon Parade, was a multi-platinum success, featuring the hit songs "Open Up Your Eyes" and "If You Could Only See," the latter of which became radio’s most played Rock Song in 1997. Tonic’s third LP, Head On Straight (2002) received two Grammy nominations. In 2009 Tonic reformed resulting in multiple tours and a Greatest Hits release. In May 2010 Tonic will release its first new album in 6 years.

Also performing will be some of Atlanta’s seasoned musical artists as well as up-and-coming talent, including  Michael Tolcher, Gareth Asher, Christopher Alan Yates, Brian Bisky, Will Boos, Jen Lowe, and many more.   

Tree Sound Studios Tree Sound Studios is partnering with UCR again to provide solar power for River Revival's music. Save the Hooch campaign

River Revival is also the kick-off party for SweetWater Brewery’s 5th annual Save the Hooch Campaign, which engages beer drinkers, bar patrons, and restaurants throughout metro Atlanta in efforts to raise awareness and funds to support UCR’s river patrol and water quality monitoring programs from Memorial Day through July 4 weekend.  According to SweetWater Marketing Director Steve Farace, “River Revival is a great way for us to kick off the campaign.  It’s always a fantastic party, and it gives people a chance to get personally involved in protecting our river.” For more information, visit www.savethehooch.org.
