16th Annual River Revival

May 4, 2012 (It's a Friday this year!)
Park Tavern at Piedmont Park

Tickets go on sale March 14.

Our annual River Revival is one of the most exciting events of an event-packed year and a spring favorite, as hundreds of river supporters come together to celebrate our work with great food, live music and beer from SweetWater Brewery.

Held at Park Tavern at Piedmont Park, River Revival brings UCR members, guests and sponsors together to celebrate the river while soaking in the spring weather under the big tent and enjoying live music. Atlanta has always been a hot bed of talent when it comes to musical artists, so the event will feature some of the city’s seasoned artists and also showcase younger up-and-coming talent.

Besides live music, guests enjoy a silent and live auction, great food from Park Tavern and brews from SweetWater Brewing Company. We also present our River Rock Star Award to a company, group, or individual that has used their creative gifts or innovative methods to benefit Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Last year, we honored Rhett Turner and Jonatham Wickham for their hour-long documentary released in 2010, Chattahoochee: Water War to Water Vision, which has brought much needed attention to the plight of our river and the complexities surrounding the Tri-State Water War.

River Revival is organized with the help of an active host committee. Co-chairs for the 2011 event were Derek & Shannon Jacoby of Jacoby Development, Beth Cope of Talking Heads Media and Paul & Sunshine Diaz of Tree Sound Studios. If you are interested in joining our host committee, please contact Tammy Bates at tbates@ucriverkeeper.org or (404) 352-9828, ext. 12.

Save the Hooch Campaign

River Revival is also the kick-off party for SweetWater Brewery’s 6th annual Save the Hooch Campaign, which engages beer drinkers, bar patrons, and restaurants throughout metro Atlanta in efforts to raise awareness and funds to support UCR’s river patrol and water quality monitoring programs from Memorial Day through July 4 weekend. According to SweetWater Marketing Director Steve Farace, “River Revival is a great way for us to kick off the campaign. It’s always a fantastic party, and it gives people a chance to get personally involved in protecting our river.” For more information, visit www.savethehooch.com. Last year we raised an unprecedented $93,000!
